Alan Edmondson of NWA Land Trust Monitors Historic Johnson Farm
On December 12th and 13th 2017, Alan Edmondson, Land Stewardship Specialist of the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust, visited the Historic Johnson Farm, one of their easement-protected properties which is still owned by the Johnson family. It was a rather historic moment, actually, since Ryan & I have hoped and dreamed for years that someday we’d be able to help protect land that had legal conservation status. We have experienced helping properties which did NOT have protection, and have seen developments take over once-natural landscapes where we volunteered. So seeing Alan out here this week was a sort of celebration for me. A milestone of success!
Alan conducted the required Annual Conservation Easement Property Monitoring for the several tracts of land around the farm on Kessler Mountain and the preserve on Round Top Mountain.
